If you’re like I was when you tried diet after diet and still have not reached your goals, or if you have done, you do not hold that weight for so long. This is because the vast majority of diets do not work. These are hungry your body shed those extra pounds … but what then? You put the weight back on!
Chances are, many of these diets you’ve tried in the past, you do not replace a healthy amount of calories. You’re probably thinking … “But wait, I thought the fewer calories the best!” Well, you’re not alone, and it is a common misconception about weight loss. When your body does not get a good amount of calories on a daily basis your metabolism slows down, you lose muscle mass and your body retains its stored fat for energy (as you would in normal circumstances, the basis of calories you eat). You may have heard of the “starvation mode”, a term well that’s exactly what this means. Besides all the scientific reasons for not going on any of these plans, let’s be honest … These plans are miserable! I know I could not a diet of chick peas and some lettuce for a long time to maintain – except for the fact that his poor health, it is not sustainable, that is why diets are not suitable for the long term.
